Google Facing lots of competition

In the world, there is competition for each and every product and that also involves Google who is facing lots of competition from all over the web. When we think of Google the main competitor yahoo and microsoft often came to our mind. But the way Google handles him in all the aspect bethrone this search engines.

But that’s not all, bing the new search engine which is been popularized and showing its impact on users all over the world is a big worry to google. It might take the position of google (it may be possible).

Not only the search engines but also social tools like twitter search which is a real time product offering its users finest and uptodate information posing a great competitor for google.

And that’s not all facebook which is being growing larger and larger after making their features and programs like twitter they began to grow beyond their thought.

To follow or not to follow

The new concept in seo it is not recently new but as it is the topic which is been now coming out almost from all the seo experts. The code "No Follow" & "Do Follow".

Google’s Page 2 becoming more valuable

As today while going through some forums I found an interesting thread that on “Google 1^st page users are not getting what they searched for instead they found more on 2^nd page”.

Well to start off with the post I think its on the part of google its somehow partly correct. If you know before, google used to show irrelevant result on the first page for the keyphrase.

There are many instances where google show result from affiliate site. They used to show more of videos related to the keyphrase, which is being useless for the users.

In first page they also show more wikipedia result but it does only the part of describing the key phrase originality not more than that. And sometimes they bring on some article site or press release that foster nothing.

Users tend to search atleast more on 2, 3 & 4 page for any query or product till they don’t get their desire be satisfied. It’s very unlikely to know that how many pages people search for their desired result. It depends upon the user behavior do they get exhausted with only 1^st page or they search till their result don’t show up.

But today google is specific and they show only those results that satisfy the users. They now only show little and only those video, article, Wikipedia if any query is being typed for any film or celebrity or some keyword.

Google Under Attack

Well, you heard it correctly on 25th June 2009 the giant search engine Google thought that he was in under attack as there were millions of searches for the news of Michael Jackson death. The rush of search was so severe that Google thought he wan under attack and they showed error page for the search.



You can see the respond from Google representative "The spike in searches related to Michael Jackson was so big that Google News initially mistook it for an automated attack. As a result, for about 25 minutes yesterday, when some people searched Google News they saw a "We're sorry" page before finding the articles they were looking for." Source.


But the event of Thursday demonstrated that Google is very far behind in displaying the result related to Michael Jackson health. They probably shown the exact result of his death after 3 hrs as sources believed. The first media channel who break the news of Michael Jackson death was TMZ.com but & there after the news broke out so rapidly that everyone around the world start searching for the news.

After TMZ.com every other social media site like Twitter there were 1500 tweets per min for Michael Jackson It is great to see that social media channel are popping out the result more faster than traditional engines. And in yahoo there were 800000 clicks in 10 minutes for the story “Michael Jackson rushed to hospital,”.


The only search engine lagging behind is Bing where nothing related to Michael Jackson death is being displayed. They say that Bing “saw a spike in traffic “ but they don’t have any data to share with.

It’s a question on the part of Google where they are ruling emperor in search engine but despite the best they don’t report perfectly about this breaking news. But will they do this again if any unusual thing happens like this.

Got Ranking for my Target Keyphrase

Today I’m writing the post about my site, which got ranked, for my target keyphrase. Below I’ve written down the step taken for bringing my result on top.

Well I was also eagerly waiting that how much does google take time while ranking the keyphrases of a new website. I’m interested in that question because my own website Web Designing India was a new website.

Below are some of the steps I’d taken to bring my targeted keyphrase on top rankings.

Re-design : When I’d first seen the site its completely out of mind. Its very ugly and nothing as compare to any website is there where my user would ever make a mind to come at my site. So, I’d redesigned the site with proper navigation, adding some new links, restructure whole thing which are messy.

Keywords: The first and foremost thing after redesigning is to target those keywords which I’d been selling to my client. Well, my website is Web Designing India so obviously I’ll be targeting web design related keyphrases & other web design related keyphrases. After taking out all the keyphrases from google keyword external tool & checking their competition, search volume and almost everything to bring it on top of the result.

Content: My third step was to make those content which would appeal to my users and give them all the details for which they have been looking at my website.

Links: After writing content my main aim was to increase the backlink of the site for which I’d submitted the site into 1000s of directories, posted in forum, done link exchange etc.

Promotion: Not only in backlinks but also to spread the word of my site I’d created an Article and press release and submitted them in the same.

Social Media : As social media is globalizing exponentially I posted my site in social media sites like stumbleupon, dig, delicious, facebook and more.

Conclusion : Atlast after making every effort to bring my website on top of the rankings from last 3 to 4 months. I’m glad that it is been now on 9^th position for my target keyphrase i.e Web Designing India in Google India. Well the ranking fluctuating but I’m regularly updating my site with new content and new features.

Page Rank Update Again

Well, so here comes again the increment of page rank toolbar. Page Rank got update again on 23rd June 2009 I don’t know the time. Its been updated within a very few time span. Last time it was updated in the month of April 1st and now only after two months & twenty-four days later it is updated again.

But this time it is not that much ruckus about page rank because most site page rank are not updated. Mine too not update it is the same 2 from last two months.

The reason for updating the page rank so early from google is not disclosed (well they update as if they want) but I hope & wish to all of them who got their page rank increased.

Top 3 Important Ranking Factors

Well, there are various factors to be consider while ranking in search engines but as you have asked me only three then below are the factors which should be considered.

1. Keyword in Title Tag : First & foremost the most important ranking factors is keyword in title tag because when the user search for something he should see that the keyword for which he is finding is there on our title tag and he will come directly to our website which will increase our traffic and may be convert him into lead.

2. Content : Well, everybody know that "Content is the King" so when the visitor arrive at our website he is reading our content and we should write those content which gives him the detail & explain him all the benefits, features & services for which he come at our website.

3. Backlinks : Well, yes you have read correctly as backlinks are also important in increasing our ranking factors as more backlinks we have more weightage we will received from google to increase our ranking. But i'll say that there are many website which are having less backlinks then also coming on top of the rankings because they are getting backlinks from quality website which are highly publicized in google and are very good & informative website. So, if we have to increase our backlinks we have to get it from quality website.

Google Wave – Widely Awaited Product from Giant Engine

Googles Real Time Communication i.e Google Wave which making news everywhere is yet to be arrived but then also it seems that it will be one of the most advanced and unique product of google up till now.

Well, Google Wave brings you almost all the information in one format. There are so much articles and blogs about wave below are some of the features of google’s wave given in mashable which are very fascinating.

“Google Squared” new product from Googles Lab

Google introduced a new product from their Googles Lab i.e “Google Squared” which according to them and by from all experts is that “it is a experimental tool which organize all your query in an organized manner and put them in rows and columns describing their facts and their features”.

Well, one cannot explain their pros and cons if they didn’t use it. I’ve tried it for my self for the word Ocean well I got some not so good info them. They produce rows with their Name which is nice their description also but then after their Class column for which most of their squared were empty and giving a sign “No value found” which is quite embarrassing as they should remove those or didn’t show up those squared for which they don’t have any fact or any value. The nice feature they have included is that by adding our own columns.

Well, google describe it is very good search engine but most of the review from experts are not in favour. So, they tend to make it more productive and more efficient so that it will gain upto an unlimited height.

Bing vs Google vs Yahoo

Microsoft unveils its latest search engine “bing” which are in every tech savvy lips. Working on that for many years atlast in the end Microsoft has made some unique search engine which will diversify the world with its fascinating features like Explorer Pane for refining searches, Quick Previews for viewing the site before we click on it and Sentiment Extraction for making sense of product reviews.

Does it definitely pull out Google and Yahoo from the search engine race and become the no.1 search engine? Well, that will take some time as it is new and prominently not taken that much raise. But one can decide about that when they themselves tried it.

Well, I’ve taken out some research on all the three top most search engine and find out some of the result. For searching “seo company india” I’ve found out that all the three engine are showing the same result except yahoo which shows Brain Pulse company as on position 3 and other engine are showing on 1st position.

But there were reports from Statcounter that Bing become the 2nd search engine backing out yahoo only on 5th June. Well for yahoo they should do something to retain their position.

Well you can also put your suggestion about bing. Its benefits you are getting and some other things you didn’t like it.
